The Best Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

I’ve tried many banana bread recipes which have been successful for the most part, but some have missed the mark. When a coworker brought this recipe in for a bake off, I was hooked. I would like to share this recipe with you as it comes out perfect every time. It has the right amount of moisture with not an over bearing sweetness but nice bursts of chocolate.

I re-found this recipe in my binder when I was looking through it to find a banana recipe since I had 3 lovelies sitting on the counter biding their time. It’s so easy to put together and pop in the oven. A one bowl wonder and you don’t even need your stand mixer! Plan ol’ wooden spoon and a bowl.


Mash bananas with the back of the wooden spoon and add all ingredients. Stir. Voila.



I eat this awesome banana bread for breakfast every day with green tea while it lasts… so delicious.



The Best Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Prep time: 10 minutes    Cook time: 40-50 minutes    Cool time: 10 minutes


2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3 ripe bananas
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup chocolate chips


Heat oven to 350

Combine and mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.

Place batter in a lightly greased bread pan or in muffin tins.

Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool for 10 minutes then remove from pan. Complete cooling on a wire rack.
