Canuck Mojito

This past weekend was the hottest this summer so far and the heat has carried on into the week! It makes me crave this thirst buster that we had on the weekend!

A few friends and us cooled down this weekend with the new LCBO Food & Drink recipe for a Canuck Mojito!

It uses maple syrup instead of simple syrup and calls for Canadian Rye Whiskey as opposed to Rum but feel free to switch it up!

It’s easy, super tasty and quenches thirst in the heat!

Canuck Mojito

1/2 lime cut into 4 wedges

1/2 oz maple syrup

2 tbsp fresh or frozen blueberries

10 mint leaves, torn

1.5 oz Canadian rye whiskey

1 oz blueberry juice

club soda

In a highball glass, add the lime wedges, maple syrup, blueberries and torn mint leaves. Muddle in the bottom of the glass but do not mash.

Fill the glass with ice and add the Canadian rye whiskey and blueberry juice and stir.

Fill with more ice if needed and splash club soda on top.

Garnish with a lime wedge and a blueberry spear.

Enjoy responsibly!
