In the heart of little Italy is a quaint enoteca serving up fresh delicious food with wine pairings that will make you sing. I was introduced to DiVino Wine Studio by a colleague who also moonlights as a sommelier. She insisted on taking me there as she knows how much I love food. I was blown away by how the gnocchi paired with a spectacular red was absolutely amazing.
The owner Antonio Mauriello travels to Italy at least once a year which allows DiVinos to always change and adapt their menu. He invites you to travel with him to Italy as he’ll be your guide to the different wineries and vineyards throughout the country. If you can’t make it, they have a special wall of wine and a tasting bar to fill your curiosity. It is an enoteca afterall. 🙂
The Executive Chef, Cristian Lepore from Rome makes fresh bread and pasta everyday for the restaurant which can be learned as DiVinos offers culinary cooking classes where participants actually get to be in the kitchen cooking and baking. He’ll teach you his secrets on fresh Tuscan bread and beautiful pasta. They also offer wine tastings, olive oil tastings and many other different experiences to help bring you closer to Italy.
Knowing how much I enjoy this place, my friends surprised me for my bachelorette and set up a wine and food pairing dinner to start off the night. As each dish was served, the Sommelier Eric Diotte would describe the wine and explain which region of Italy it came from including the topographical elements such as slate. The rest of the group that was with me who haven’t been there before have all be back since. He’ll even bring out a map of Italy to show you the different regions.
Since this was the case with my party guests, I decided that this could be a good idea for a friends Bachelor party. Each guest had their own printed out menu with which wine it was being paired with. Again, it was wonderful.
